Sophomore

I survived my first week back to UVU!!!!
At first I was signed up for five classes for Tues/Thurs.
(10am-7pm)
But then I got a job as a receptionist at a daycare in my hometown that required me to be available in the afternoons.
So I switched my schedule to four classes Mon/Wed/Fri.
(8am-2pm)
But then I discovered my last class of the day was in a separate building on the opposite side of school than my third class and with only a 10 minute walk time between the two, I was not going to make it on time. And that was a problem because the professor did not accept tardies. So unfortunately, I had to drop the class.
(8am-1pm)
Then I discovered my third class of the day, oceanography, was not in fact, a class about mermaids, like I had hoped, but rather some sort of twisted MATH CLASS.
Obviously, that had to be dropped.
(8am-10am)
But taking two classes, TWO CLASSES...?
Now, that's just embarrassing.
So on Wednesday night, I enrolled in Art History for my fine arts credit.
Gotta love generals.
It is a LOT of work, reading, and essays, but I'd rather that than math!
Anything but math.

One week down, e'rybody.
Only... ummm... hmmm....1-2-3.... a million more to go.
Cool.

tbt

Throwback Thursday to when my sisters and I wore matching dresses to church (made by my ever so talented mother) and we curled our bangs with a curling iron.
Those were the good ol' days.

Prince Eric is a babe.

I think the title says it all.
I can't help it.
Ariel is a lucky lady.
Swoon.

(Here, they are standing in front of the royal float for the parade, 'Celebrate A Dream Come True').

Ali, Anni, and Shelly

I feel so blessed to have such amazing best friends.

There's Lindsay (pictured below) who I met in Florida.
The other day she told me that about the second time she met me, I told someone at church that my name was Piper Jemimah and she knew she was in for quite a crazy ride.
But I'm so grateful she stuck out that crazy ride with me in Florida because she is my ginga ninja!

FUN FACTS ABOUT THIS BEAUT:
She's a crazy talented artist and is majoring in Animation at UVU.
Her singing voice sounds like what I think an angel's singing voice sounds like.
Like me she also has two sisters, however she is the oldest (where I am the youngest).
She is the Just Dance Queen.

And then there's Chris
I met her my sophomore year in high school but we had different friend groups so we never hung out. All I knew was that she was a pretty blonde and I wished I had her face.
Then, junior year, we both made Dance Company and as the only juniors on it at the time, we stuck together. ("BRICK WALL!")
Senior year: we were co-presidents on d.co but we still never hung out outside of class or rehearsals. It wasn't until the end of senior year where she asked me, "WHY ARE WE NOT BEST FRIENDS?" And to be completely honest, I had no idea why not.
She makes me laugh SO DANG HARD.

FUN FACTS ABOUT THIS BLONDE BOMBSHELL:
She's rad. And a smartie pants. That's why she goes to BYU.
Her legs are like 4 ft. long and if I could, I would steal them from her.
This Summer, she went to Europe on a study abroad and did pretty much everything on my bucket list.
Her favorite movie is 'She's the Man' and she can quote the entire movie.

The other day, I introduced them to each other.
I know. I know.
Risky.
Combining two worlds into one?
But guess what.
Since they're both amaZING (only Linds and Chris will get the emphasis on that), they got along absolutely swimmingly and do you know how happy that makes me?
REALLLLLLLY HAPPYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I made us take a couple photos-- or 40.
Here are my favorites.
(Thank you, Papa, for being our lovely photographer!)

This is our ode to Gossip Girl.

"Princess Pose"
I love them so much! And truth be told, we have too much fun together.
Wanna know what happened last night?
No, you don't.
I will spare you the details, except for the tiniest insignificant detail that we had one or more noise complaints filed against us.
MY BAD.
So publicly, I just want to apologize to my red headed stunner but also thank her for a memory that I will not soon forget!

I love these ladies!
And I can assure you that you will be hearing about them a LOT more in the future.
Stay tuned!

Star Wars Weekend

Throughout the entire month of May, every weekend at Hollywood Studios is STAR WARS WEEKEND. I am not exactly a Star Wars enthusiast but it was still pretty cool. I saw the coolest show put on by a single man all about voice overs and met one character, one. And it was this guy:

I learned his name is Kitfitso. I have no idea which episode he's in but he's in one of them apparently. I was trying to meet Anakin because he was rather attractive, I'm not gonna deny that, so I got in his line but when I got to the front of line, Anakin and Kitfitso switched places so Kitfitso it was!
Please note Vince's Star TREK shirt and Star TREK hand.
TRAITOR!

The Harlem Shake.

A few of the missionaries from the NYNY North area do the Harlem Shake.
Other than that, I don't really think a caption is necessary.
Enjoy!

An update on the boyfriend.

Awwwww look at him.
Doesn't this just warm your heart?
Elder C's trainee, Elder Ritter.
They are BFF's.

Found on the Subway.

He has less than a year left.
LESS THAN A YEAR.
When did that happen?

Happy National Best Friend Day!

Did you know June 8th was National Best Friend Day?
I did!
And so to celebrate, I sent the boyfriend some pizza!

SIDE BAR: Dominos is awesome for this kind of thing because if you order with a card, they don't require the receiver of the pizza to have the card with them when it is delivered. So thank you, Dominos!

It was kind of stressful because I was working that night and I had to time it accordingly to when Elder Boyfriend would be in his apartment + the delivery time but right before I went on set, I submitted the order and hoped for the best!

A couple weeks later, I received this picture taken the night of June 8th.
He got it!
Oh, I was so happy.
And look how cute he looks!

Happy National Best Friend Day, Curbs.
Love you long time.

(PART 3) My sister came to visit me.

The last final day was split into two parks.

First, Animal Kingdom.

Waiting for Finding Nemo. Love this show!
This was while we waited in the longest line EVER.
Grumpy cat is unimpressed.
Look closely. This is Dano's genuine reaction. It's so cute!

The second park was Epcot.
We had dinner in China.
And tried on significant bling in Norway.

(PART 2) My sister came to visit me.

The second day of playing was at Hollywood Studios.

We met a couple characters:

The Green Army Man

Jake the Neverland Pirate.

And got our faces painted because it's totally normal to walk around with a painted face at the happiest place on Earth. It's lovely.

And of course we rode rides, this one more than most:

What is not pictured is the hour it HURRICANED. Truly, I have never seen rain so fast and furious. It was raining sideways! But that didn't stop us from having fun! Did you know Hollywood Studios is my second favorite park (after Magic Kingdom). I love the shows, the rides, the old jazz music that plays down Sunset Blvd... ah. It is my happy place. If you haven't been before, I highly recommend it.

(PART 1) My sister came to visit me.

The greatest thing happened, pretty spontaneously, a few short weeks before my program ended. MY SISTER CAME TO VISIT ME. It was such a fun-filled 4 days, here are photos from the second (the first was kind of a half day when she flew in, arrived at our lovely resort, then went straight to visit Ariel in her grotto).

On this beautiful, sunny day we went to the one, the only, Magic Kingdom.

We rode lots of rides:

and I was able to introduce Dano to some of my Floridian friends!

Lindsay. "Call Me Maybe"
Robert. He's like 6'7. Nbd.

More photos to come of the rest of our days soon!
Be excited.
I know I am.
