California

I am in sunny California. It is joyous.
Today we drove for 12 1/2 hours.
12 and A HALF. A HALF!!!
But we arrived at my Grandma's house after making two very necessary stops-
One at In N Out and the other at H&M.

Purchases:
#2 with no tomatoes or onions
black cardigan
boho head band
snazzy gladiator sandals

Good day right?

Well then when we arrived at my Grandma and Grandpa's house and went for a lovely swim in their pool.

Awesome day right?

Then we had Heart Healthy sandwiches and watched So You Think You Can Dance (dang it! I love Melissa!) and Leverage.

PHENOMENAL DAY! right???

My lovely, beautiful and very talented friend is having an RIP Pushing Daisies party/ funeral. (She made the card above!) Isn't that a great idea? It's sad but oh so clever. I think it's wonderful and I cannot wait!

ps. Happy 100th post! Thank you friends! xoxo

Pouvre Brain

My brain is fried.
It hurts.
But it's not because of your ideal reason.
It's because of dance camp.
Wow.

I had to process so many things today it's ridiculous. And the sad part is that sometimes I failed- badly, even though I PROMISE I did it perfectly in my head. It's just the executing part that's tricky for me.

And so, because I didn't do too great today from 8:00-3:00, (the time period of dance camp EVERY DAY for 4 DAYS) when I came home, I tried to practice. HAHAHAHA. This is the funny part: I couldn't remember anything- AND STILL CAN'T. Which means! Tomorrow is going to be unfortunate because I won't have an excuse for looking foolish.

I can't wait.

the beginnings of bruised knees
modern can be dangerous you know...

FGF 4

Well it's a miracle. (Better late than never) I remembered it is Friday. Which means... it's time for a movie review.

And the winner is, Princess Diaries. I LOVE both movies. (1 and 2 -- yes I'm cool like that) and I think I'm going to watch one tonight. Why do I like them you ask? That's easy! Because of Miss Anne Hathaway. (I have so much respect for her) Also, who doesn't love the fact that she didn't know she was a princess until her 16th birthday. (There's hope for us all)

I was 9 years old when it came out and I saw it in theaters- which was a real treat. After Anne Hathaway's transformation I specifically remember leaning over to my Mom and whispering, "Is that the same person?" I could not believe permed-glasses-Anne Hathaway was the same as straight-haired-contacts Anne Hathaway. It was amazing. (Plus I had a HUGE crush on Michael)

As always, I have to throw in a pitch about... the book! I love ALL of Meg Cabot's work. They are fabulous pre-teen books. Actually, I wonder if I will like them now that I'm older. I'm going to have to give it a try!

So in conclusion my dear friends, if you have not seen it, (1 or 2) please do. It will make you laugh at least once.

I promise.

Footsies

Numbness and AGUA!

HOLY MOLY!

MY LIP IS NUMB! I went to the dentist today and thankfully, they numbed my mouth. Thank you Dentist! Except it's been a few hours and I was really, really thirsty so I got a drink.

Bad idea.

The drink is all over my shirt. I can't quite swallow. But I don't want to change.

Hmmm. Good thing it was water???

this water bottle says,
"As in life, chill for best results"

How can a water bottle be more rational than me?
Good glory hallelujah.

Mean... italicized

I was mean today.
I'm not normally mean.
I'm not saying I'm a perfect person or anything close to that but I'm not normally mean. There's a difference between... mean and mean. (The latter is the worst-- which was what I was today!)
It's been on my mind all day today.
I knew it was happening when it was happening so why did it turn out the way it did?
I'd like to say I'm sorry.
I never want to be mean again.

untitled.

I want to know if I can be happy with a normal life. I don't want to go on and on because I know it will sound stupid but I was thinking about it today and it got me thinking: Is my small life going to feel worth it in the end, will it feel worth it now? It doesn't at this very moment.

But I hope so. Because I don't want to envy someone my whole life who IS living an eventful life. Who IS living a dream of mine. I don't want to waste valuable time doing something that doesn't make me happy.

I also don't think I should write anymore for fear of my legitimate concern sounding like a legitimate rambling session. Oh bother. But for real, I want to be content with my decisions. I want to be ok with the fact that my life might go unnoticed by the world.

What do you think of my Jim Face?

I've worked pretty hard on it.

Woe Is Me

Oops... I did it again. My deepest apologies my dear friends. I was busy yesterday to say the least and I did not post a Feel Good movie Friday. (It's kind of okay though because I didn't watch any movies I was passionate about this week)

But let me tell you why I was busy. It starts out at about 2:50 pm. My aunt, very graciously, offers to drive me to work. So we're outside on my drive way when she says, "I can't find my keys." Uh-oh... After a five minute search all through the house and with no luck, my Mom ends up jumping in her car and driving me. (I should probably add that they did find the keys... eventually) When I get to work, I end up starting in my least favorite slide as it is directly in the sun and it was about 102 degrees. Fahrenheit. Holy hotness. After 30 minutes of unfortunate heat, I rotated to the next slide where I was forced to turn away little boys who were only two inches off from the height requirement. I am pretty sure I am on their naughty lists.

this is how frustrated i was

At the top tower I dealt with many a jerk who did not care about safety. That makes me angry. I'm trying to keep them safe. They are looking for thrills and have no respect for anyone but their thrill seeking buddies. Not a good combination.

On my break, I learned that the girl I asked to cover the shift directly after mine that day (I was working a double) had called and told me she decided to go to a party instead. Therefor, during my meant to be air conditioned break on a comfy couch in a trailer, I ended up standing outside in the hot sun making phone calls to everyone who wasn't already working. None of them could do it. None. Except my favorite phone call was to a young man who told me "I have family coming in this evening." That's totally fine. I completely understand. I'm not a heartless person you know? But here's the catch. A quick 30 minutes later, I head back to my slide only to see the same young man get in line for my slide. I don't think he saw me working it. (because if he did, he would have run away. Fast.) When he got in his words were, "You're probably wondering why I'm here." Uhhhhh yah.

On our last rotation I dropped my favorite lip gloss down the slide.
And got stung by a bee.
It hurt.
But it didn't end badly! Don't you worry. I got someone to cover my shift- a little late but oh well. Thank you kind sir, for making my terrible day a little less terrible. Almost good.

i bet this bee's brother is the bee that stung me

Hathaway Surprises Fans With Pizza

15 July 2009 5:16 AM, PDT

Anne Hathaway rewarded fans waiting in line to see her final performance in Shakespeare play Twelfth Night - by bringing them pizza.

Theatre lovers desperate to see Hathaway close her run in New York's annual Shakespeare in the Park event last week (09-12Jul09) had to wait overnight for tickets, which were made available on a first-come, first-served basis.

But queueing fans got more than just a pass to the show - the actress arrived at 3am on Sunday to personally thank them for their support.

And she didn't show up empty-handed - generous Hathaway brought a giant box of pizza and offered a slice to every person in line.

Isn't that so incredibly kind? If I were a movie star, I think I would be nice- at least I really really hope... like Anne Hathaway.

Red Hat Society

I had a red hat society photo shoot today.

When I grow old, I hope to be apart of that club.

But only if I could wear a new red hat each time.

What is it that they do exactly?

C is for cleanse

polaroid from 2006.

Hello my friends.

So! After having three brownies just now (because sometimes I loose count) and feeling like pudge, I have decided to go on a cleanse. Don't you even worry! It's not one of those 'grapefruit juice' thing-a-ma-jigs, it's a real, honest and healthy one. YAHOO MOUNTAIN DEW! -that is not allowed by the way.

It's called, the 28 Day Cleansing Program. My sister did it in January and though it was tricky, she said it felt great. So you may be asking why I have decided to tell cyberspace of my health ambitions... well that way I will stick to it. Yes? Yes. That's the plan anyways.

oh but I cant forget to say this! I may have to do the '14 day Cleansing Program.' I have dance camp in two weeks and I may need to eat more substantial food than nuts, fruits, veggies, beans and tortillas during the week. Basically, bring on the pizza.

Wish me luck!

Commercial Overload

These are my all time favorite commercials! (It doesn't mean I endorse their company or what they're selling, they've just stuck with me for many years!)

M&M's My sisters and I still sing this song every now and then.

The dolphins are playing!

Dude, you're getting a.... Honestly? I like the All I want for Christmas one a little more but they're both great.

I want a thank you note... in cursive.

Oh dear.

"Someone hand me my Evian" NAME THAT MOVIE

So this commercial isn't real, but it is in the world of 'The Office'. That's real enough, right?

FGF 3

And the movie for this fine day is....

CONFESSIONS OF A SHOPAHOLIC!!!!

My cousin rented it the other night and we had a wonderful movie night full of laughter and smiles. In a weird way, I feel like I can relate to Becky, the main character, because she loves shopping. I LOVE SHOPPING! So I'm thinking that means we're soul sisters.

So I've just realized this is my second Feel Good movie Friday entry with Hugh Dancy in it. (The other was Jane Austen Book Club) And it's also a well known fact that I love Ella Enchanted (which he is also in). Always have, always will. (When it came out, I saw it three times in the theater, twice on consecutive days)

I can't tell you about this fabulous movie without telling you about the even more fabulous book. The series, Confessions of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella are simply in my favorite books category. I have read two and now I am on Shopaholic Ties the Knot. OOOOOOOHH! What does that mean?! Sophie Kinsella has a gift for description. Period. I feel like I am witnessing Becky and Luke's life. Oh. That's a little bit creepy when written out like this. Too bad so sad. (best 90's saying ever!)

Better wrap it up because there are only 24 minutes left of Friday! Soooooooo basically watch this movie because it's grrreat AND if you're a shopaholic, or in debt you might learn a thing or two.

Stadium of Fire

Wow! How was everyone's Fourth of July? Mine was AMAZING. I am going to cut to the chase and tell you, I WENT TO STADIUM OF FIRE!!!!! Basically, it is a huge concert and fireworks show and it was fantastic! Guess who the special guests were this year. Just guess!

JONAS BROTHERS! Best concert ever! My friend Mary and I went together and it was simply magnificent. I really don't know what else to say about it because it was the most fun I have had in forever!!! yahoo mountain dew.

So we got to the stadium and the first thing we had to do was get Dippin Dots ice cream for Mary. Sweet. Next we found our seats. Check. After waiting for twenty minutes, the show started. Hooray. But the Jonas Brothers took their own sweet time coming out but when they did! Boy was it amazing.

It went like this, the dancers finished and as all one million of them were running off the field, music started to play. And it built, and built, and built, and built, and built, and built until the finally came running out and started to sing! I was insanely excited, I wanted to jump up and down and all around! But I didn't. I was well behaved the entire time! What a day, what a day, what a day! The only words I can say that suffice would be 5.

  1. I
  2. Love
  3. You
  4. Jonas
  5. Brothers

Here is my most recent obsession: URBAN OUTFITTERS.
Enjoy this link and have fun browsing. I bought a shirt from there the other day and it should arrive soon. I simply cannot wait!

So guess what? I forgot to do my Feel Good Movie Friday on Friday. Shame on me. My apologies. So I guess that just means that this Friday's post is going to be off the roof! Is that the saying? That sounds weird.

Mary and I at Stadium of Fire. It was AMAZING!
It needs a post of its own-- it was that good.

KABAM!

Pregnant people scare me. Sometimes.

I work at the water park yes? Yes. And when I tell them that they can't go on the slides because they are with child, they get really, really, really mad. I worry they're going to have their baby right then and there.

KABAM!

...
BABY!

But I've become better at handling this. When they used to give me flack, I would not give flack back but I would not be neutral either. You know? But now, I say the two most neutral words in the universe, "I'm sorry." Sometimes I add a "mam" in there. Just trying to be respectful.

BUT SUE ME FOR NOT WANTING ANYTHING BAD TO HAPPEN TO YOUR BABY!
Actually, please don't.

Smack Into You

Alrighty! My most recent song obsession is.... drum roll please...

Smack Into You by Jon Mclaughlin. I am a fan of many, many, many of his songs that I'll have to tell you about another time. He is also the singer in Enchanted at the ball. (You know, the one who sings So Close. swoon.)

So, some brilliant person decided to mix Jon Mclaughlin's version AND Beyonce's version. It is pure amazing, pure everything.

So HERE is the link. Enjoy the lyrics below too!

Head down as I watch my feet take turns hitting the ground
eyes shut, I find myself in love racing the Earth
and I soaked in your love
and love is right in my path, in my grasp
and me and you belong

I wanna run, run smack into you
I wanna run, run, smack into you

ears closed, what I hear no one else
has to know
cause’ I know that what we have is worth first place in gold
and I soaked in your love
and love is right in my path, in my grasp
and me and you belong

and I, I wanna run, run smack into you
I’m willing to run, run smack into you

Head down as I watch my feet take turns hitting the ground

eyes shut, I’m in love and I’m racing the Earth
and I soaked in your love

and love is right in my path, in my grasp

and I wanna run, run smack into you

and me and you belong
I’m willing to run, run smack into you
I’m willing to run run run run run ooh ooh ooh ooh
I wanna run, run smack into you
I’m willing to run, run smack into you

Oh! Also, this is important: I changed my blog background because it was so dark. I needed some light! Voila! Hope you like it.
