sha.sha and mar.mar

My bestest friend in the whole world, Mary, and I had a BFF photo shoot. Photos taken by our dear friend Emma Marie. You should check out her website here. She was phenomenal and we had a blast. I'm so grateful for friends who make you smile... even when you are outside in 22 degree weather... for one and a half hours... in a dress and cardigan.

Glass Singing

Maybe you had to be there... but it was still funny. I sure do love family time.

Still, Still, Still

One of these days I'm going to write a real blog post; Just like old times. You know, when I used to write about things that happened in my life. But for now, I feel like writing poetry. Some days, I simply feel creative.

However.

Since I most certainly cannot do that, please enjoy this video which explains exactly how I feel. In fact, you should just pretend I wrote this... just kidding my friends.

Here is Benton Paul (remember him here and here) singing only my favorite Christmas song, Still, Still, Still.

Up Close & Personal.

My dearest Sophia Rose loves the camera. And the camera loves her too! After each picture taken she asked to see it. "OOOH! I'm so pretty!" She would say.

Yes dear, yes you are.

Happy Christmas.

Merry Christmas my dear family and friends! I sincerely hope this Christmas is absolutely full of joy!!!

We went to the airport the other day to pick up my sister who is home for three whole weeks. I truly enjoyed seeing all the families become reunited as the travelers came down the escalator. There was cheering and clapping, yelling (-the happy kind of course), and tears. Tears galore as loved ones returned home for the holiday.

If your loved one is not home this season, as one of ours is not, I send you a special Christmas wish from the bottom of my heart.

Have yourself a merry little Christmas. May your heart be light. Next year all our troubles will be out of sight....

A Moon that's New

Today, my dear friend Emily and I are carrying on a tradition that we started last year. It was one snowy December day, much like today, and Emily and I were sitting in my room, wondering what to do. One of us had the brilliant idea, to make a spoof of a movie. But what movie? Well hello! We had just seen Twilight in theaters. Bada bing. Bada boom.

Today Emily and I are making New Moon. I am rather excited to be playing both Edward and Jacob. But here's the thing, now I have to take off my shirt. Dang it. WOAH! Just kidding. I'm actually kinda excited. TAKE TWO. I really am just joshin' ya.

Emily has great improv skills. Me on the other hand... it's kind of a learning process but I'm looking forward to it none the less. I will be sure to post the finished product when, there is in fact, a finished product.

And now, I present to you our version of Twilight from 2008

Thermal Pajamas

There's no real reason for this post to be called 'Thermal Pajamas'. However, why shouldn't it be called 'Thermal Pajamas'? I love thermal pajamas so there you have it folks.

How are you all? I feel like I have not blogged for months when in fact it has simply been just about one week. I think that's a record.

Christmas break has now started for my school district and I am rather thrilled. What could be better than no school until 2010? Ummm nothing.

I went to my ward Christmas party this evening. At the round table I was sitting at, was a 15 year old boy named Bradley. During dinner, Mckayla the four year old came up to him and smiled the absolute biggest smile I have ever seen right in front of Bradley's face. She was deffinitely not shy.
"Mckayla's got a crush on you," said Bradley's mother. Immediately, Bradley's hood went up and he burried his head in his hands. Poor boy was blushing. Mckayla quickly scrambled over to me and climbed on the chair next to me.
"Hi!" I said, "What's your name?"
"M-C-K-A-Y-L-A" she spelled.
"Pardon?" I asked. In my defense, she spelt it extremely fast.
"Mckayla. M-C-K-A-Y-L-A." She repeated again.
"How old are you Mckayla?" I asked. Immediately, four fingers whipped in front of my face. "Four?" I asked. She nodded. "Do you have a crush on Bradley?" I asked.
Without a moment of hestitation she replied, "He's cute, I'm pretty. THAT'S WHY I LOVE HIM!" And with that, she hopped over to the next chair and climbed onto Bradley's back much to his disgust.

Young love. How precious.

HEROES

Remember that one time I told you about a certain dance concert I was in? Well folks, here are a few photos from the concert in case you missed it!

Good show my friends. Good show.

Heavyweights

I bluffed my biggest bluff last night. My friends, it was epic. I went on a... quadruple date last night. Is that what you call it when there are four couples? Hmm. I think I'll just stick with group date. So I was on this group date, and we were riding slowly through the "Festival of Lights" in the back of a truck with the most blankets I think I have ever seen. Picture this: 8 shivering teenagers in below freezing river, watching lights in shapes such as frogs, birds, and lochness monsters. (The tail moved-- highlight of my night.) Believe me, it was fun.
However, I digress. I'm not entirely sure how it came up but bada bing bada boom, I just started talking about my summer at fat camp. In my bluff, I was 10 and weighed 400 lbs. My friends, is that even possible? Well I let them ask questions about fat camp and I sounded well educated because I based all my answers off the movie "Heavyweights" starring Ben Stiller.
My favorite questions were the following:
Q: "What did you do all day?"
A: "Exercise. That's really about it."
Q: "Was there a crazy guy there like Ben Stiller?"
A: "Well... no. But there were versions of him."
and my other favorite which is not quite a question...
kinda Q: "Wait! You did NOT go to fat camp! You're like the skinniest girl I've ever seen!" Ladies and gentlemen, last night I was wearing a flowy shirt and a huge coat. There was no way she could have seen if I was in fact "the skinniest girl (she's) ever seen!" I was laughing hysterically but thankfully it was dark so they could not see.
I'm not sure what my date was doing the whole time but he wasn't in the conversation at the beginning and so it wasn't until he heard me say 400 lbs that he said, "What?"
"I was once 400 lbs."
"No you weren't."
"Yes I was."
"No, you're lying."
Right then and there I couldn't help but burst out into great fits of laughter which told the enitre truck that I was in fact teasing them. My laughter spread to each person there and pretty soon my abs felt like they were about to break. It was a joke that did not die for the rest of the night and 14 hours later, I'm still chuckling.

hats.

As of recently, I have found myself to be obsessed with hats.

Big ones, small ones, some as big as your head!

Sometimes, I'll find myself on the internet, looking at hats and I'll wonder, "How did I get here?" And I can't remember. I've just been drawn to the websites with head apparel. Simple enough, right?

I have a question for my brain: Where did this obsession come from?

I don't know. I don't care. I like it.

Hat pictures from Anthropologie. I could marry that store.

Christmas Voice Recital

Last Monday I had a voice recital. It was nerve racking but I survived. I received a letter from my voice teacher today with pictures included taken by her lovely daughter, Coryn. I first met Coryn on a movie set and we instantly became friends as we sang Wicked together while cleaning out a pit of sand. Classic. She is quite the photographer- that is not a compliment to myself, I will be the first to admit I look scary in these pictures- what can I say, I had stage make up on from the show just an hour before. But thank you, Sister C and Coryn, thank you very much.

I was supposed to have a small index card with my lyrics on them but a few minutes before I went on, I double checked the words I had written down only to find they were the wrong words! Close one Sasha...

The great Coryn herself.

Dear C Family, I really do love you guys.
