The Magical Concert of 9/26

I went to a concert last night that had a lot of names:

The...

Benton Paul, Michael Johns, and Brooke White concert!

It was magical. Quite lovely. And guess who showed up at the very end?

Mr. David Archuleta.

Ladies and Gents, this is THE Benton Paul. And this is not photo shopped. This is REAL! Scariest, most exciting, most amazing moment of my life! Ok well maybe that's a little over board but it was so fun!!!

Listerine Spray

Today I sprayed Listerine spray in my eye. You know that stuff? Modern day binaca. (Actually, funny story. I was 'Bianca' in Taming of the Shrew last year at school and my drama teacher used to always call me binaca and laugh. Each time he said it. Which was many times... bless him. He really is great. ANYWHO!) Here's the thing though, I don't even have a cool story to go along with it! I was sitting in choir class, talking to my dear friend Erin, saying, "This thing never works!" And as I try to pump it, SQUIRTTTTT. Yes. Right in the right cornea. After laughing for about 2 minutes straight, with tears rolling down my face, some from the laughing and others from my irritated eyeball, I was able to compose myself and deal with my eye. It felt icy cold. Kind of like how your mouth feels after you rinse it with mouth wash.... However, after an 86 minute class, the redness went down ( a bit) and I could see just fine. I'm actually surprised it didn't have the reaction like pouring salt on a snail (I HAVE NEVER DONE THAT) - I'm lucky to be alive.

It is still a little irritated now. And to be honest, I think it looks smaller than my left eye. My buddy Mary says it looks normal though. But I will survive... however, I'm a little disappointed. You see, I have always wanted an eye patch. Better luck next time I guess.

PTC

Today is the dreaded day of all children ages 5-18.

Parent. Teacher. Conferences.

You know, those meetings. Who knows what goes on there because it's not STUDENT, parent teacher.... it's just plain parent. So for all I know, they could be having a mixer. As we speak. I would just like to point that out.

ps. Maybe the teachers live there too. Just sayin'.

Clark Kent

My Dad is a superhero... for many reasons! But I'm talking about this one in particular and here it is:

The Case of the
Missing School Folder
:

Friday night: Take out rough draft for English from folder. Edit rough draft.
Saturday: nothing.
Sunday: nothing.
Sunday night: "Where is my folder?"

ONE WHOLE HOUR OF SEARCHING THE HOUSE LATER.

"I can't find my folder!!!!"
Monday morning: Go to school early to search lockers.

NO LUCK!!!!

4th period: Do my monologue in drama without my words. (WORDS IN FOLDER) It was tricky but I managed.
6th period: Unable to turn in math homework. (HOMEWORK IN FOLDER)

Dinner Time:
Dad: "Was the drawer you put it in full all the way to the top?"
Me: "Yes."
Dad: " Maybe it fell behind the drawers."
Me: "OK! CAN I GO CHECK?"
Dad: "Sure."

A CHECK IN MY DESK LATER

Me: "No luck."
Dad: "Lemme check."

DAD'S CHECK LATER

I am famous.

My counter has exploded. It was 3,00o something and now it is 12,000 something. At least that's what it's telling me! Here are the possible explanations for this occurence:

A) I am famous.
B) It is a fluke.

Something tells me it is letter B. But let's just pretend for a minute it is letter A.

Woah that was weird.

9/9/09

Who else was excited about 9/9/09 yesterday? I was! I was overjoyed, I was bouncing off the walls! Okay, take it down a few notches and that's where I was at. Kind of like an April Fool's Day excitement, not so much an Easter Bunny excitement. You know what I mean?

Who else did something EPIC at 9:09 am? I did! I was in class and at 9:09 we had to stop what we were doing and hold our breath for 9 seconds. After that we were trying to think of something great to do because we had 51 seconds left but sadly we couldn't think of anything and so with 10 seconds left from all the thinking we made a wish and then the magic minute was over.

I hope you have similar stories! 9/9/09 at 9:09 only comes around every now and then. Like, a billion years maybe...

Christmas in September

I woke up anxiously this morning at 5:10. I laid in bed til 5:20 and then simply couldn't wait any longer. I got up, had a bowl of cheerios, okay, two bowls of cheerios and watched the US open.

The phone rang at 6:05. It did not even ring a full ring before it was answered... by Mom. My sister was able to call us from the airport this morning before she leaves for New Hampshire to serve a mission for the church. My other sister, in NY at the moment was able to join in on the call by skype.

So picture this.

My mom was at the high table talking with one phone. My Dad had his laptop on the floor open on skype. Down by the speaker was the phone on speaker phone surrounded by myself and my Dad as we listened closely to her tales of the MTC.

It felt like Christmas, or at the very least, Thanksgiving. In a little way, we were all together again in one room. (That's a bit of a stretch...) But it made me want to curl up on the couch and listen to Christmas music. After all, we are in the "ber" months. December is just around the corner don't you know.

Sorries and Sickies

Where have I been for so long?

My DEEPEST apologies but I have found this new school year to be extremely busy.

And the problem is, when I am not busy with school, I'll think, "I want to blog!" But about what? That is the problem.

It is 4:43 am and I am sick. Yesterday was call backs for the school musical and I was in desperate need of water so I asked to use my friend's water bottle. "I'm sick," she said, "just warning you." I thought it over for a minute and I decided I'd rather sound hydrated while I sang then and worry about the sick stuff later.

Bad idea.

Coincidence? I think not!

Oh well. It is Friday, tomorrow is Saturday, there is no school on Monday. I am a happy camper.
