The Blue Fairy

Yesterday, my Daddy and I spent mostly the entire day going car shopping
While at Disney, my goal was to save up for a car of my own and after going to 10+ dealerships and looking at at least 100 cars, we found this little beauty.

I am so in love with it!!!!
2008
Dodge Caliber
New engine and transmission.
Suh-weet.

I am so grateful for my Daddy who helped me and directed me towards good, reliable cars and helped me get the best bang for my buck during the nasty negotiation process.
I know he doesn't like buying cars but he sure did an awesome job!!!
That man has the patience of a SAINT.
I am so blessed.
Thank you Daddy, I love you.

In the photo above I am showing my Sorcerer Mickey antenna topper.
It's my Mommy's but she is letting me borrow it since it matches perfectly!
And it fits in with the name of my car:
THE BLUE FAIRY
From Pinocchio, of course!
(Gotta keep it Disney).

I am so excited to finally have a car of my own!
Throughout my entire driving career, I have borrowed my parents cars and they have been SO KIND to let me do that. Whenever people needed to be more places than we had cars, they would always work something out, and for that, I am so grateful for them.
Thank you Ma and Pa!
You guys, my parents are the best parents in the entire world.

Also, thank you to my sister Keke for taking these lovely photos.
While doing our little photo shoot, without me knowing, she also snapped this little beauty:

Isn't she just gorgeous?!

And last but not least the ONE TAKE WONDER jumping photo.
That's right, this was our first and only jumping picture we took.
Keke's just that good.
And if you look extra closely, you might see a little surprise in the back.

If you ever see a blue Caliber tootling around Utah County, it's probably me so be sure to say hi!
I look forward to seeing you!

tbt

Throwback Thursday to when my sisters and I wore matching dresses to church (made by my ever so talented mother) and we curled our bangs with a curling iron.
Those were the good ol' days.

i am so thankful for modge podge.

As I've mentioned before, Elder Boyfriend sent me the sweetest birthday package. It contained lots of cutsie princess stuff including a 750 piece puzzle of a few of the Disney princesses. I am not a big puzzle-r and though I thought it was sweet, I set it on my desk and excitedly read the talk he sent me given by President Uchtdorf last conference with all of his cute little missionary insights.

It wasn't until the next day, though, that I opened the puzzle box and saw little words on the back of the pieces. Wait a second, am I getting asked to a high school dance? Nope. Nope, Alex, you are not. Instead, you are the girlfriend of a cutie patootie (and creative) missionary who had a lot of free time on New Year's Eve.

At first I was overwhelmed by such a big puzzle but then I remembered my Mama is a puzzler extraordinaire! How lucky am I.

So we got out the puzzle mat, sorted the pieces in to edges and middles and then by princess. Honestly, I mostly just sorted since I'm usually the one who shoves pieces into the picture that don't really fit. So though I didn't do much, I'd like to think I was a cheerleader for my Mommy.

Brannigan was also a cheerleader. And sometimes too much of a 'helpful Henry' but hey, it's the thought that counts, right?
Branni-boy.
Look how pretty the finished product was!

I am so grateful for Modge Podge.
Tiny writing.

The end result was the sweetest letter EVER. Remember how my boyfriend is better than your boyfriend? (Just kidding, that felt mean. And I'm not mean; biased? H yes I am. I freakin' love this boy.) It was so nice of him to remember my birthday, send me a gift and even prepare it a whole two weeks in advance, WHAT?! Who's a lucky girrllllll? Me. I'm the lucky girl.

Thanks, Curt.
You rock.
See ya in 18 months, okay?
BAMMM.

Roadtrip (Day 2)

Day 2 started in an interesting way...

A planking way! (Why? Well, why not?)
Face time with the sissies

Did you know there's a toll to enter Topeka, Kansas? Rue.

We drove through St. Louis on the second day and woah, woah, woah. Ladies and gents, I have fallen in LOVE with St. Louis! Perhaps I liked it because I had missed all things city, it was pouring rain, or because of the incredible architecture but for now, I'm a fan. A big, big fan.

Roadtrip (Day 1)

As most of you know, I was accepted into the Walt Disney World College Program.
That was in March.
It is now September.
Who woulda thought the day was actually going to come?
Because it did.
On September 1st, my Mama and I began our trip to the sunshine state!

Our first stop was in Colorado.
Where in Colorado, I can't be sure, but I do know it was rather close to Kansas.

Outside our room.
There's a 13 in our room number.
Taylor Swift's lucky number.

A Colorado bear
And a Colorado bear kiss

Can you spot Obama and Mitt?

I'm a broken record.

I know in the past I have written several posts about how wonderful my parents are. And frankly, that's just because I have been so blessed. But guess what? Today is Father's Day. And like my posts have said in the past, my Dad is still awesome.

Today we celebrated by having dinner, opening presents, and eating cake.

For those of you who don't know, my Mommy is extremely crafty and talented and made him a card, and what it said on the outside was extremely sweet.

Love my parents, I'm so grateful they're best friends.
Happy Father's Day, Dad.
Thank you for showing me how a marriage and family should be.

98 days.

After a horrible, no good, very bad day at work...

[But at least I've been labeled a 'real server' by my co-workers because I've bawled in the work place.... (You see, there was a gentleman today who was very unhappy with his grits and let me know about it in an extremely loud and may I say, rude, way? After listening to his complaints, somehow I made it to the kitchen before the tears started flowing like Mt. Everest + severe global warming, in which Susan, my 'server mom' (so labeled by yours truly), gathered me up, told me to breathe, and delivered new grits to the guest, with a little piece of her mind. (Can you believe that?! Oh goodness, that's why I love her and therefor have adopted her) She saved the day, that's for sure].

... Hmmm where was I? Oh yes! After this wretched day, I came home to find this beautiful paper chain hanging up in my room, counting down the days until I move to Florida.

Though I am absolutely terrified to move away so far from home in a mere 98 days, when times are rough, I like to think about Florida and the many new experiences I hope to have while I'm there, and things seem a little bit better.

Basically, my Mom has tuned into that and is therrefor just the absolute sweetest and made my horrible, no good, very bad day a little bit better. So thanks Ma. And thanks man with the grits. (Just kidding).

I love you. ...Mom-- not the grits man.
(In case you needed some clarification.)

I want to be a Mom.

It was my wonderful Mother's birthday yesterday.
Ya know how we celebrated? She made us her favorite dinner and dessert.
Why? Because she's awesome like that.

Growing up, I have wanted to be a spy, a ballerina, a police officer, a teacher, an actor, a chef, a lawyer, a surgeon... you name it! No one was going to stop me from "living my life." But over the past few years, my thinking has changed. And I want to be a Mom. Just like my Mama; because of my mama. Thank you for that Mumsy.

If you don't know my Ma, I think it's safe to say you are missing out. She is the kindest, sweetest, most caring person I've ever met and I hope to be like her one day.

She is such a blessing to me and I think it's safe to say I'll love her forever and ever! (Because I can and all.)
It was your birthday yesterday, Mama! I sure do hope it was happy.
You're one of my biggest blessings in my  life and I just love you so much.
Thank you for being my favorite Mama!
