Bugloss

I just made the best chocolate chip cookies I have ever made. This is bragging to the maximum but I am rather proud of them. They're fat. Fatter than fat. They probably make you fat but I don't care. They're crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. YUMMMMM. I've already had two, not to mention the dough I swiped. Shhh! Don't tell anyone! I would love another in a few minutes....

Ok so I looked a few places for the BEST recipe and I ended up choosing one from Food Network.
I altered it just a little to become..... this!

Chocolate Chip Cookies from Food Network

With alterations by yours truly

Makes: about 30 cookies

Ingredients

1/4 cup unsalted butter

3/4 cup packed dark brown sugar

3/4 cup sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

8-12 ounces chocolate chips of chunks

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

3/4 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon fine salt

Directions

Evenly position 2 racks in the middle of the oven and preheat to 375 degrees F. (on convection setting if you have it.) Pam baking sheet. (If you use one sheet, let it cool in-between baking periods)

Put the butter in a microwave safe bowl, cover and microwave on medium power until melted. Cool slightly and do not pour into bowl until after you whisk the sugars, eggs, butter and vanilla in a large bowl. Whisk until smooth.

Whisk the flour, baking soda and salt in another bowl. Stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients with a wooden spoon; take care not to over mix. Stir in the chocolate chips or chunks.

Scoop heaping tablespoons of the dough onto the prepared pans. (WARNING “heaping tablespoons” are huge after cooked.) Wet hands slightly and roll the dough into balls. Space the cookies about 2-inches apart on the pans. Bake, until golden, but still soft in the center, 12 to 16 minutes, depending on how chewy or crunchy you like your cookies. (On my oven: 11 minutes is plenty) Transfer hot cookies with a spatula to a rack to cool. Serve.

Store cookies in a tightly sealed container for up to 5 days.

I am Chef and Mary is Boyardee

Every time I make cookies or really anything-- I feel like Ned from Pushing Daisies. I would love to open up my own pie shop, even though pies aren't my specialty, I would still love to open it up because I would make it dang cute! Oh this sounds so fun! I want to start gathering recipes ASAP!

Mezereon

I feel like being studious.

I feel like wearing glasses.
I feel like reading Jane Eyre.
I feel like drinking herbal tea.
I feel like writing on paper- a real piece of paper.
I feel like cleaning my room.
I think I've got the opposite of summer fever.

I feel like running in a field of daisies.

What kind of fever is that?

SUNDEW

One of my favorite parts about working at the water park is the reaction to the slides. I'm not a mean person but the man screams are so funny! Apparently, men over 200 lbs. are in no way allowed to scream on the slides. They act macho and tough BUT IT HAPPENS! aha! It's like I catch them off guard and it's sad but I know they're enjoying it.... plus I can't help but giggle a little. Would you like to know what they sound like? Like this:

aaaaaaahhhhH! with the capital 'H' at the end.

One of the best moments today happened on a slide with three drops. a young girl and boy went down the slide together. On the first drop there was a girl scream and a boy scream. Typical. That's perfectly normal. However on the second drop there was a girl scream and a... girl scream. It made my entire day! The fact that he forgot for just one moment that stereotypically he had to be all manly tough was great!

What a day.

I bet you wish you worked at a water park for five hours a day.

BREAKING NEWS

I would like to briefly take a moment to tell the world I am going on a facebook fast. It has recently come to my attention that I go on it WAY too much. And it got me thinking, I could be so much more productive-- I mean think of the hours I could be doing something worth while! So here we go. It started about two hours ago and it will go at least until Friday. Woah. Woah. Woah. Woah. Isn't that crazy? Well not really but here's the thing. For some of my friends, that's my only way of communication. So I think that as of now, I'm definitely having mixed feelings about it. But what can I say other than I'm just going to give it a shot and see how it goes. I may be on a facebook fast but I am NOT on a blog fast. NEVERRRRRRR!

I won't grow up

Sleepless in Seattle

I cannot sleep. What have I done for the past three hours you ask? Well....

Watched Penelope. One of my favorite movies ever. I love the message, Penelope's style, and of course, the one and only, James McAvoy.

Read the news.

Watched trailers for Sunshine Cleaning and My Sisters Keeper. I want to see them both. Wow. I love Emily Blunt and I cannot wait to see her in Sunshine and did you know that Sofia Vassilieva shaved her head for the movie? Now that is dedication if I ever saw it. Oh and look at this link to see her imdb picture. She is amazingly beautiful I cannot get over it.

Watched the pilot episode of Glee. Love it! How awesome is that! I hope they keep it. My favorite character was the girl teacher. I don't know why but I was sincerely drawn to her character. She is SO cute! In a way, she reminds me of Chuck from Pushing Daisies.

Clove-tree

Houses have got to be one of the strangest things ever. What in the world? Who was the first to come up with it? Think about it for a second. Like really, really think about it. They're little huts for little people to live in in this little world. Isn't it cute? I love how unique houses can be too! Big ones, small ones, blue ones, yellow ones, shared ones, and owned ones and the lists just keeps on going and going and going... And what I love the most, is how they can be truly anywhere.

If you could live ANYWHERE, in any country, in any street, on any... rock? (see above) where would you live? What would it look like? What would be special about it to you?
