Graduation

Guess who graduated from Disney school yesterday? THIS GIRL. I took a fascinating course called, Marketing You, and in it I learned about interviews, resumes, and finding out about what makes me a necessity to the company and career of my dreams. Wowie! It was a pretty packed 12 weeks but Im so glad I did it! (And getting a certificate of completion and perfect attendance signed by Mickey Mouse himself isn't too shabby either).

I just finished two overnights.
What are overnights, you ask?
They are when you start work at 10/11pm and finish at 6:30/7:30am.
Whuh, whuh, whuh, what??
Thanks to sleeping all day yesterday and then for 6 hours last night, I am, surprisingly, not exhausted.

But the best part of it all is that I am SO excited for what the overnights were for.
Guess who can't really discuss the details?
This girl.
But I feel so blessed to be a part of such an experience with such a great team!
None of the cast or crew took themselves too seriously and we were all able to have a great time and get a lot done.

Highlight #1: Walking through an empty park late at night with all the Christmas lights up. It makes me feel so small and when I think about it, scared even! But my goodness, was it beautiful. It's times like those that I just can't believe I'm part of something so magical.

Highlight #2: A pancake/french toast buffet at 3am. Maybe I overdosed on breakfast food, maybe I didn't... (I did).

So excited for tomorrow!
(When all of our hard work (hopefully) pays off).
PS. Today is the grand opening of The New Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom!!!

At 12am my alarm went off and I shrieked with joy.

Taylor, my roommate, looked up from her computer.

"Are you okay, Alex?"

"I. HAVE. MADE. IT. TO. THE. 500s."

And then I danced around my room to One Direction.

Ombre. Coming to you 2013.

I love working for Disney. It's fantastic and a dream come true! However, they have strict rules that define "The Disney Look". Please do not get me wrong, I am grateful for these rules, they make me proud to work for such a pristine and crisp company! But this means that I can't dye my hair in any unnatural fashion, and that's kind of unfortunate because you know that ombre fad that started a few months ago??? Well, I havent' gotten over it yet. I need this to happen to my hair. So guess what? It is! Just, eventually, that is. Summer 2013, my hair is going to melt from dirty brown, honey, and then to blond. Yes, yes, I know lots of people don't like this fad, but when has that ever stopped me? (Remember my blond streak senior year? Yeah me too. Good times.) Also, you might be saying, 'But wait! You're a brunette!' And to that I say, 'My good friend, one thing I have learned while working at Walt Disney World is that lots of people can pull off hair colors that you didn't expect and I am hoping to be one of them.' Eeeek! I'm so excited. Pretty sure I've pinned about 1000 ombre pictures on pinterest. It is going to be awesome.

 

Elder Boyfriend's Thanksgiving

When I went home for Thanksgiving, I visited Elder Boyfriend's family and his lovely Mama told me that a ward member in Elder Boyfriend's ward often posted pictures of him on her facebook wall. She then gave me permission to stalk her wall and steal some of the photos... so that's what I did. And this is Elder Bf on Thanksgiving!

 

 

He's so cute I'm gonna die.

What a happy Thanksgiving.

In my most recent letter I received from him, he told me that he and all the elders in his apartment decided to have a competion to see who could gain the most weight from before Thanksgiving dinner to after Thanksgiving dinner... Elder Boyfriend gained 9lbs. NINE. Yeah, he won. Good job Curbs, good job. So proud.
